| Do We Really Need Another Trade Show? |

![]() Why another trade show? Why in this economic season? Why is this a good idea? Here is the FreePromoTips take on the ASI Show San Diego with short video clips. We trust you will be able to get a feel for this inaugural industry event. THE SHOW BEGINS I thought singing God Bless America, at the opening was awesome! People were excited about the show! THE VENUE What about the all-important trade-show traffic question? Suppliers want the aisles packed with buyers, which is becoming increasingly more of a challenge, since these days less people are inclined to leave their office and family to spend money attending a trade show. Ah…but there is the old adage…you need to spend money to make money. Trade show exhibitors and attendees need to consider the investment of time and money required to attend these events. Based on the many suppliers I spoke with, the feeling was that they were surprisingly pleased by the turn out, especially for a first time event. Then there is the classic, quality of the buyers issue. It seemed that those who attended this show were people engaged in the industry, who saw the value of making the investment to be there. Lori from Evans shows a new Made in the USA Product: CJ from Hit...Hit's one out of the park with this cool item: EDUCATION The education sessions were great: Since I had the privilege of presenting education at the ASI Shows for many years, I have an inside understanding of the value placed on education. A team of quality presenters had packed sessions, which I shocked to see. I just didn’t think education sessions would be this well attended. Perhaps this is a positive sign that people are hungry to learn ways to prosper in this “interesting” economy. The Tony Robbins keynote presentation was nice, but the rah-rah exercises towards the end were a little bit much for me. THE FUN FACTOR If you've never attended an ASI Show, you need to go and meet Promo! You can’t underestimate the value of the Fun Factor at trade shows. We work hard and some like to play hard…whatever that means to you. Without question ASI knows how to run a trade show. From the opening where God Bless America was sung, which I really think was a great touch, to the closing party and the always populate Gala party, it seemed that a good time was had by all. The show day ends on an up note: In conclusion, I think the ASI Show in San Diego was a good show and I am glad I took the time to go. I look forward to next year. Regardless of how one might feel about ASI and the cost of their products, I believe that they have the resources and commitment to produce quality trade shows and provide products that are good for the industry. In conclusion, do I think there are too many trade shows? Maybe, but as long as business is being done, relationships are being developed and people are having a good time...trade shows are a good thing. If they don't bring value, folks can simply choose to not attend. Your comments are welcome below. Jeff Solomon, MAS - FreePromoTips.com ![]() CLICK HERE TO VISIT OUR PRODUCT SHOWCASE PAGE...

suppliers do you want this trend to continue,it is really up to you.
It's true that ASI is "diligent" in building their business and people can take that for what it is.
Regarding ESP...I've used other products and I am really excited about the new ESP WEB, especially as a Mac user. In the end the choice is doing what's best for your business. That's your decision to make.

I as well as over 300 other Distributors have vowed not to use any ASI products and are planing an all out effort to NOT buy from any Supplier who suports tha ASI Show San Diego. JUST SAY NO TO THEIR GREED!
I use to like Promo Tips but now that they are in the pocket of ASI NO MORE!
I guess they just don't get it, ASI is trying to put the SAAC Show out of business HELLO, They even tried to get the same venue as SAAC in Long Beach but it was not available. Next year they are moving the date of their show closer to SAAC's date to try agin to kill more of the numbers attending the SAAC Show. ASI is not just comming to CA. because they are nice they are comming here to stamp out the competiion. They are not here to help our industry they are here for pure GREED!Don't be fooled.
Hasn't an easy order entry system been tried before? I'm not sure how that will work.
